After working in the Solar niche I have noticed a common question among them when it comes to Facebook ads for their practice: are my ideal customers actually on Facebook?
The short answer is YES. Here’s why…
As of right now, there are over 2 BILLION people in the World on Facebook. That is a large majority of people in the population! I can almost guarantee that most of your current customers are currently on Facebook.Another aspect of Facebook ads, at least with how I run Facebook ads for a Solar is that the way to get them to opt into receiving an offer is inconvenient, which means that they were
inconvenienced in order to receive the offer.
In order to claim an offer, they have to see an ad (they get hit with hundreds a day), read an ad, click on the ad, enter their name, email, and phone number, and then hit submit.
This is NOT convenient in a GOOD way. As a Solar business, you only want people that are serious, which means that the more you make them work to claim the offer the more serious they will be.
When doing Facebook marketing, you get to show your face (creating an attractive character) and educate the audience so that they are sold on YOU and Solar from YOU.
Solar still very much needs a lot of education still to get more customers, and there is no other marketing platform that gets to educate people more than Facebook. Let’s talk about the best part about Facebook: retargeting.
Facebook lets you retarget people based on the action the took on the Facebook ad.
I’m sure you have heard that the “the fortune is in the follow-up.”
With Facebook ads, you can show the offer or different offer to an audience that may have clicked on the ad, but did not take action. Which means that your ads will be shown to a warmer audience that is more likely to take action and be a serious candidate for your services.
This is where mailers, Google Adwords, and Groupon marketing falls short for the Solar businesses. They don’t get to send another touch point to people who were interested, but maybe needed another reminder of your offer or business to take action.
